Environmental art is when the artist makes a connection with nature. Materials used in the work of art come from the outdoor environment such as vegetation, sand, clay, shells, wood and stones. The art piece is created in the environment and left to the elements of nature. Environmental art is the stepping stone to environmental awareness through hands-on activities. The intent of environmental art is not to improve nature, but to learn more about it. Contemporary artists such as Andy Goldsworthy and Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood will be explored throughout the workshop.
Please bring a digital camera to take pictures of the images which will be made in class.
