Anaphylaxis 101

Does someone you know have a life threatening allergy? Anaphylaxis is a serious allergic reaction, it can be life threatening. Food is the most common cause of anaphylaxis, but insect stings, medicine, latex or exercise can also cause a reaction. This workshop focuses on the basics of anaphylaxis and the need-to-know information required such as what is anaphylaxis; signs and symptoms; common causes of anaphylaxis; how to use an auto-injector and tips for creating an allergy safe environment.

Sharlene Wedel is the coordinator for Child Care Options

Resource and Referral Program, with 20 years experience in the child care field. She has been advocating for children with food allergies and anaphylaxis since her son was diagnosed at the age of three with a life threatening peanut allergy.

Time:6:30-8:30pm

Location: Langley CCRR office 20577 Fraser Hwy

Limited Space: 20 people
