In recent years, there has been a great deal of focus on the development of a child's early language skills, i.e. literacy, including talking, singing, reading, writing, etc. Attention is now also being paid to children's early cognitive development in mathematics, that is, numeracy. Join Lynn as she explores why this is an important area of development for children in the early years. You will also learn how to provide activities that will help children experience math in a positive and fun way.
Lynn Malbeuf has been with the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows CCRR since 2004. Her previous experiences in the child care field include acting as Executive Director for a large daycare/afterschool care program in Alberta as well as the Family Day Care Consultant for the North East Region of Alberta.
